Best coffee grinder made!

We love to grind out own coffee, and have always been disappointed with the fact most coffee grinders can't hold enough beans to make a strong cup of coffee, and that it doesn't have a removable insert for easy cleaning. This Kitchen Aide does BOTH! Grinds the beans perfectly, and easy cleaning.... Just throw it in your dishwasher and go. We liked it so much we bought a second one for our lake house! Thank you Kitchen Aide!

Great for grinding other foods for the Keto diet'

I have never grind my own beans before. I buy my coffee at Starbucks and let them do the work. My son gifted me the coffee grinder and the spice grinders for Christmas. He knows I am a Kitchen Aid FANATIC! Now this is the only way I will ever drink my coffee...grinding my own beans and the grinder is so easy to use and clean. Who would had thought this would be such an easy task and have better coffee. Even my co-workers at work love for me to make coffee for them. Thank you Kitchen aid for making the best "Kitchen Aid" literally for our kitchens. I am a proud owner of many Kitchen Aid appliances and small appliances like a 36 range stove, dishwasher, side-by-side ice box, Pro Line standup mixer, Pro Line Espresso Machine, food processor, many gadgets etc, etc. I am a loyal Kitchen Aid customer because their products do what they are meant to do and look beautiful in my kitchen. 2 years & grinds my coffee like Day 1

I continue to use this coffee grinder 1 to 2 times a week. I am happy to say it continues to work like new. My only issue is that I cannot fill the bowl to the high mark of the bowl. When I do, some beans do not get ground. Not a big deal, I just grind less than 12 cups at any one time. Otherwise, I have not experienced the problems that others have written in their reviews. One thing is certain,some seem to have not read the instructions. One writer said that they pulse grind like the instructions say. The instructions specifically says Do Not Pulse Grind. I like this grinder & I recommend it highly.

The worst you can buy!

I bought this coffee grinder 2 months ago. when I grind coffee or something, it spills everywhere around...even inside the place the the motor works. At first I thought mine is a defective so I brought it back to the store and exchanged it with another one. But the new one I got acts the same. really unhappy with my purchase. Stopped working after light use - but I fiixed it?

Received as a Christmas present a year ago, used extremely lightly (maybe ten times). Looks nice, grinds ok but a bit unevenly and don't fill the bowl a lot because bowl kind of leaks. After moving we unpacked it and it didn't work, at all, despite taking out bowl, double checking it was screwed in correctly, pressing hard, pressing lightly, tilting slightly, etc. Unplugged it and removed three screws on bottom. Poked around inside a little, and one square module part on the side maybe wasn't seated fully? Who knows, nothing obviously wrong and everything looked fine. I didn't do much. When I put it all back together - voila! It worked again. This is for the Black Onyx BCG111OB.

Great but don't try to get replacement parts

Worked perfectly every time I needed it, but suddenly it wouldn't grind. It turns out that the mechanism/gears that are buried inside the steel bowl wear out. I tried to take the steel bowl apart, but I can't. You see, it's made so that it can't be serviced but only replaced. Great for the landfill sites! I would happily fix it myself (yes, I do have the necessary tools to do it), but due to the way it's manufactured, it cannot be serviced. Nor can it be taken apart so that the blades can be sharpened. Very disappointed considering the cost of this unit.

Grinds are EVERYWHERE - whaa?

No idea how this thing gets high reviews. There is NO lid for the inside cylinder that does the grinding. So, grinds are airborne, spill over onto the outside lip which the cap fits on, you take it off, and poof! Grinds ALL OVER YOUR COUNTER - EVERY TIME. Plus it it requires pretty hard pressure to grind...like my arm vs fingers, making pulsing as KitchenAid suggests, quite impossible. It IS quieter than most small grinders, the reason I got it. Avoid this grinder.

Good grind, average noise, rmvble cup a plus

Great grind. Noisier than expected, so don't grind if you're the first one up. The salesman told my husband that it would grind more quickly than the one it was replacing. It really didn't, but I became fine with it's timely grind. Love that it was available in red. Love the removable cup; my old one I use for cinnamon, cardamon and cloves doesn't. Three years later, I'm here looking at reviews to see if anyone else has had the plastic on the grinding bowl break. Two years ago it first broke and the hubby glued it. It twisted in place just fine but now it's broken in a second place. I've the original box I store it away in; I see it was a BB&B purchase for 29.99 plus tax. I ran it for more than ten years and it was great!

When I first went looking to find a good coffee grinder I was disappointed as most were almost toy like. Then I found this KitchenAid in the basement of a Sears store. It was big as a Buick starter motor and looked like it would grind anything one put in it. I used it to grind coffee every day for over ten years and was deeply saddened when a minor part in the cup broke. I tried to repair it, but couldn't get it apart. So I bought a new one and it is a good day today!
