This was great until it wasn't. Both of the handles that you push down on to start the toaster don't push down anymore. Very let down that a kitchenaid product would fall apart so fast.

I bought this to replace an old black and decker that a heating element died in. Mostly use it for breakfast things, and works good. I make pop-tarts every morning and the temp knob seems to be a suggestion at lower ranges, but mostly doesn't over cook them. Brown sugar cinnamon doesn't taste as good when burned. I'm a big kid,a den refuse to grow up when away from the office. Wife likes the style and function so far.

This is a well made and good looking toaster. The audible signal when the toast is done is a plus. I would only request the toaster slots be a little longer, to fit rye bread inside, since those loafs are usually a bit wider than normal. They still toast, but at an angle.

I have had this toaster for about 2 weeks and it works great for toast but every time I try to toast a bagel the outside toasts but the inside is not! I would have thought this toaster would have worked better than the cheap off brands but sadly it is worse.

This seems like a great roster especially if you like dark toast. My only complaint is that even with the bagel feature off one side of the bread is darker than the other. The toaster looks great and I really like the functions.

The toaster looks great. We received as a wedding present and it sticks out from the wall WAAAY more than our original toaster. It has a 4 inch lip that extends from the toaster slots to the knobs. I've used it a few times and it works well, although I'm still figuring out the settings. I tried it on "4" the other day and the bread ended up pretty burnt - more burnt than I think most people would enjoy (especially considering there's an even higher "5" setting!), so you may need to experiment to find your perfect setting. I also wish it had a setting for frozen items.

We bought this because of its capacity, high lift, cool sides and style. Most of the bad reviews state the toast is too over or under done. You don't have to select one number or the other, you can use an in between setting if necessary. We use a lot of toast in the morning around here and with the high wattage rating our needs are met in a jiffy. Our counter space is limited and the compact package is a nice fit. I did stick a set of "mini sliders" on the feet of the toaster so it slides out of its hole nicely. We've had this toaster for a month now and used several loaves of bread and a few bags of bagels.

I bought this toasted to replace a Black & Decker brand. I would say this is equally garbage as well. While this toaster is handsome, it doesn't do it's job. The 4-slice toaster I purchased will ONLY toast 2-slices at once. If I try to use the other two slots at the same time, it bleeps and pops up the toast seconds later. Completely useless.

Didn't want to rush to judgement, but after a few months owning this toaster, the verdict is in. The shade levels are whack. Level 1 is usually blackened toast and while I can't imagine using it, 5 is probably a setting for toast cremation. We have many other KitchenAid items, but this one doesn't seem to meet brand standards except maybe for the exterior look.

Just bought this and tried it twice. It's going right back to the store. It is not designed to hold and toast a Pop Tart. The Pop Tart is too skinny to fit in the holder which won't close and therefore won't turn on to start the toasting process. It's wide enough supposedly to toast bagels, which I haven't tried. Worked fine on bread, but honestly how hard is that? Bottom line....if your household wants to toast more than bread and bagels, like Pop Tarts, this is definitely NOT the toaster for you.

I bought this because I invested in an upgraded KitchenAid stove & I wanted a nice countertop toaster to compliment it. This is a large toaster which takes up a lot of space. It also has a loud ding when your toast is done, which doesn't seem necessary. It works ok, but nothing special. Mostly looks nice on my counter but probably not worth the money.

I bought this as I redid my kitchen last year and needed a new toaster. Doesn't toast well, need to do it twice. Also am quite unhappy with my expensive fridge. Makes a ton of noise, my old 35 year old GE in the garage is a lot quieter and roomier. Kitchenaid doesn't live up to its former name of good appliances.

Unfortunately, i've had problems with this toaster from the start. Bought this toaster less than a year ago!!! From the start it was a fight each time to keep the right side of the toaster down, had to play and wiggle until it held in place. Now, the handle/lever on the right side has broken off. Not sure if i'll replace the handle since it's a pain to keep the lever down in place or should I wait for the left side to break also and buy another brand of toaster. I have a KitchenAid fridge, dishwasher and stove for 8+ years without any issues. Unfortunately, this toaster does not hold up to the high standard of this brand!

Needed a new toaster; decided every Kitchenaid product I'd ever bought worked well, and this does not disappoint whatsoever!
Well-busily out of durable materials, with smooth-operating controls, and intelligently thought out design, we are highly impressed with this product!
The toaster functions flawlessly, fits any size bread, and toasts event, and quickly.

I bought this toaster a month ago, and I like it very much. It has a heavy duty construction with pleasing look, and nice quality.
There are couple of things KitchenAid can improve in this toaster:
1. Make the lowest setting less darker.
2. Make both side equal toast, right now it makes one side darker than other.
